We believe prayer data is sacred.

What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide you with a meaningful prayer experience. Here is the complete list:

• Account information: name, email address, and optional profile photo
• Prayer requests and praise reports you choose to share
• Voice recordings during prayer entry (stored privately, deletable anytime)
• Prayer activity: reflections completed, commitments made, testimonies shared
• Device and usage data: app version, device type, general location (city-level, never precise)
• Church membership and group participation data

What we never do

These are not aspirations. They are structural decisions built into our architecture.

• We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers
• We never display ads of any kind
• We never use your prayer content for marketing purposes
• We never surface individual prayer activity to other users without explicit consent
• We never train AI models on your prayer data
• We never allow church administrators to see individual engagement data outside of pastoral care contexts

Voice recordings

When you use voice prayer entry, your audio is recorded, sent to OpenAI Whisper for transcription, and then processed by Anthropic Claude for bullet-point extraction. All processing happens server-side.

Your raw audio recordings are private to you. They are never accessible to other users, never included in API responses, and never shared with any third party beyond the transcription step. You can delete all voice recordings at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and immediate.

Anonymous prayer requests

When you submit a prayer request anonymously, the anonymity is structural, not cosmetic. At the database level, there is no foreign key, no user ID, and no metadata that links the request back to your account. This means:

No one — not other users, not church administrators, not even our engineering team — can trace an anonymous prayer back to you. This is by design and it is permanent.

How AI processing works

We use AI in two specific ways:

1. Voice transcription: OpenAI Whisper converts your spoken prayer into text. The audio is sent via API, transcribed, and not retained by OpenAI.

2. Bullet extraction: Anthropic Claude reads the transcript and extracts 2-5 clear prayer points. The AI does not add interpretation, scripture, or theology. It summarizes your words.

All AI processing happens server-side. No AI models run on your device. Your prayer data is not used to train any AI model.

Data retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Prayer requests and praise reports are retained according to your privacy settings (public, private, or group-scoped).

If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregate statistics (such as total prayer count) may be retained for platform health monitoring but contain no personally identifiable information.

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, we honor the following rights:

• Access: request a complete export of all your data at any time
• Correction: update or correct any personal information from your settings
• Deletion: permanently delete your account and all associated data
• Portability: export your data in a standard, machine-readable format
• Objection: opt out of any non-essential data processing
• Withdrawal: revoke consent for optional features at any time

For users in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For users in California, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). For users in Nigeria, we comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is needed because we do not use optional cookies.
